Introducing Camber Giberson, RCC, CCC: A Queer Therapist Skilled in Neurodivergent and Anxiety Support

We at Clayre Sessoms Psychotherapy are thrilled to welcome Camber Giberson, RCC, CCC, into the heart of our therapeutic community. The arrival of Camber marks a momentous step forward in our steadfast commitment to delivering empathetic, inclusive, and transformative mental health care to adults and teens across BC and Canada. As we continue to navigate a society that frequently confronts us with prejudice and misunderstanding, especially towards members of the LGBTQ and other marginalized communities, our practice stands as a bastion of safety, comprehension, acceptance, and healing. Camber’s integration into our team not only enriches our collective expertise but significantly amplifies our ability to reach and support those in dire need of an understanding, non-judgmental space where their identities and experiences are fully honoured and embraced. With Camber’s unique blend of professional skills and personal experiences, we are more equipped than ever to uphold our promise of a safe online therapy space, where healing and empowerment are accessible to everyone, irrespective of their background, identity, or experiences.

A Unique Blend of Professional Excellence and Personal Commitment

Camber’s approach to therapy is deeply empathetic and rooted in a practical understanding of the complexities of human emotion and psychology. As a queer, neurodivergent therapist himself, Camber brings invaluable lived experience alongside his substantial clinical expertise, particularly to the support of neurodivergent individuals, including extensive work with individuals diagnosed with Autism. This unique intersection of personal insight and professional acumen allows him to forge genuine, meaningful connections with his clients, guiding them through their challenges with a level of understanding and acceptance that is both rare and transformative. His expertise not only lights the path to self-discovery and acceptance for those he works with but also creates a framework within which individuals can explore and understand their identities and experiences in deeply affirming ways.

Navigating Neurodivergence and Anxiety with Expertise

Camber’s dedication to his practice encompasses a significant focus on neurodivergence. His personal journey as a neurodivergent individual enriches his ability to relate to and assist his clients in navigating the challenges and strengths that come with neurodivergence. He understands intimately what strategies and approaches can foster understanding, acceptance, and positive growth and what might hinder progress.

Moreover, Camber harbours a specific interest in assisting clients grappling with anxiety. He excels in providing attuned support aimed at embodying positive change and altering conditioned responses to stress, advocating for strategies that promote resilience, self-understanding, and the development of healthier coping mechanisms.

Education, Training, and Specialized Practice

Camber’s professional path is marked by robust educational achievements and specialized training. From his foundational studies at the University of North Carolina at Asheville to earning an MCP from Adler University in Vancouver, BC, and his transformative learning experiences at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and a year-long Somatic Experiencing® training in Spain, Camber has built a dynamic framework of therapeutic methodologies.
